Minton and Co, sandwich plastic clay encaustic tile with a design of a heraldic eagle holding a staff in its beak, within a circle with the text 'Eques sit semper Aquus', green and brown inlaid in buff, 6" square, c1880. This tile would have been used in a domestic or church situation and was probably made for a specific commission.
