T & R Boote Ltd traced its history back to the 1840s but only started making tiles in about 1875. They were prolific manufacturers of transfer printed and relief moulded dust-pressed tiles in the late 19th century and up to c1910. They continued in production, making mainly fireplace and plain wall tiles until absorbed by H & R Johnson in the late 1960s.
