Rhodes Tile Co. Ltd., Burslem and Tunstall, Staffordshire

The Rhodes Tile Co was started in 1902 with works at Burslem and Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. They specialised in Art Nouveau relief moulded designs which they produced into the mid 1930s. They are best known as suppliers of blanks to Packard and Ord. They are thought to have been the first company to use lime in an effort to reduce shrinkage in firing.
