Burmantofts, Leeds, Yorkshire
Named after a district of Leeds, Burmantofts was established in 1842 as a manufacturer of stoneware pipes etc, but by the 1880s was making a range of art pottery and tiles. They also specialised in large scale architectural terracotta and made large ceramic plaques too. The company became The Leeds Fireclay Co in c1900 and went out of business in 1957.Your Exploration Trail
