A special print is made from the negative using a sticky material on a paper backing. This is then rubbed down onto the tile to deposit the sticky substance in the pattern of the image. Ceramic colour is then sprinkled over the surface and adheres to the sticky surface, so that the image is created on the surface of the tile. This is then glazed and fired to fix the design.
